Adventurous books and Camping Gear

September 13th, 2009

I may have developed a fondness for traveling because I used to read a lot of books on adventures.  As a child, I enjoyed reading stories about Robinson Crusoe, Vasco Da Gama, Christopher Columbus, etc.  I would dream of going on big adventures like they did.  I would visualize myself discovering new places like they did!

I am thankful for having had a very exciting childhood.  I must have seen every big city in India and have loved each and every one of them.  My father being an army officer encouraged us to go school excursions to far away places and insisted that we carried the Camping Gear to wherever we went.  We would camp in lovely places along with other students and our teachers too indulged us provided we reported to them every evening before dark.  It was all great fun.  I only hope every school makes it mandatory that their students go out on excursions to exotic places where nature has plenty to offer, and this way, students also will learn the value of protecting the environment.
