Camping at Lake Tahoe can be a memorable experience and there are great campgrounds pretty close to the lake. You need to book them online early and you will need to bring all your gear. The state park campsites have showers in the summer and some have their own bicycle paths, which are great to you’re your kids loose on.

At the State Parks the sites come with picnic tables and nearby water pumps. The bathrooms are well-tended and the campsites are mostly shaded. All you really need is your tent and some sleeping bags, but other items would be most helpful too. You can buy firewood to use at your site, but you should bring along a camp stove. Fold up chairs would be greatly appreciated. Bring all your food in a cooler and then keep it in the bear cabinet that is provided at every site.

Definitely bring your bathing suites, your bikes, your canoes and your rafts. You will be spending lots of time outside so make sure you bring your favorite toys and plenty of sunscreen. There are loads of eating establishments around the lake but go shopping before getting to Lake Tahoe to leave more time for fun and avoid paying a premium

The best place to know where to camp is the internet. If you type the keyword “camping site” on search engines, thousands of listings will appear. From there, you will be able to read and know different offers. Some advertisements can blow your mind off, some will lure you to the max, but some of course will be of no value to you. But if you do an extensive research, surely you will find what you are looking for.

From the thousand listings, you can filter your query to the area you want to see. Some will even allow you to have a virtual tour complete with multimedia presentations like videos and customer reviews, some will have photos, and to tap it all, they will have low prices that can meet anyone’s budget. Be careful though because the internet does not only give you good stuff, you can also be coned by thieves who are waiting for your credit card or bank details as well as identity details for them to steal and rob you off unknowingly.
